The term DELTA stands for Digital Economy on Law and Technology Architecture. KAIST DELTA Research Center aims to serve society by conducting convergence researches of economics, law, and technology to propose public policies and business strategies to realize the economic value driven by digital transformation.

As a new research arm of KAIST and a university-industry collaboration platform, DELTA researchers serve the global community by proposing practical and innovative solutions to the challenges created by the rapid development of digital technologies. Diverse integrative methodologies of academic disciplines, e.g., law and technology, law and economics, law and business, technology management, and economics and technology, will be designed, experimented with, and developed to produce optimal ways to make the most of the digital transformation.

Since the ultimate source of wealth in the era of digital transformation is intangible assets (or intellectual capital), KAIST DELTA Research Center puts its emphasis on the recognition, protection, and utilization of such intangible assets in conducting its researches and collaborating with industry players and public authorities. The faculty and the students of KAIST's Graduate School of Future Strategy, especially the Master of Intellectual Property ("MIP") Program play a significant role in shaping DELTA's research philosophy and accomplishing its missions.
